Preparing for Disaster – A Guide for Music Therapists

CMTE Credits: This course is not pre-approved. Music therapist may submit up to 10 hours of non-approved standardized self-study (see page 19 of the CBMT Manual).

Online Course Description

Natural disasters seem to occur with alarming frequency. From wildfires to floods, every region of the country is at risk for some type of natural disaster.

This course is aimed at helping the music therapy professional prepare their home and clinic for natural disaster.

Participants will have the opportunity to learn from a survivor of disaster and will be walked through important steps toward home and business preparation.

Learning Objectives

Course participants will be able to:

  • Documentation of their business materials including instruments and certification records
  • Considered planning and purchasing supplies for disaster preparation as a part of their budget
  • Identified safety procedures for their clinic space, including considerations of client abilities.
