Learning Objectives: 
Participants will have the opportunity to:

• Identify 3 key factors in being a music therapy employee. (CBMT 2020 Domain V.B.19, V.B.14)
• Identify 3 key factors in being a contractor. (CBMT Domain V.B.10,14). 
• Complete a self-assessment to determine their priorities for choosing the right work opportunity. (CBMT Scope of Practice V.A.1, V.A.3)

Instructor Bios:
Sarah Thompson, MM, MT-BC
Sarah has worked as a board certified music therapist since 2003. Sarah has been in the workforce for over 25 years and has worked in a number of different roles. She is the founder and CEO of Rehabilitative Rhythms in Denver, CO which has 6 board-certified music therapists and an internship program. She has been a business owner since 2005. She has been active with reimbursement, research, and the Colorado state task force. She a Neurologic Music Therapist-Fellow and currently working on a PhD.

Josh Schrader, MT-BC
Josh became board-certified in 2005. He worked for the 11th largest school district in America for 10 years. Seven of those years he served as the Lead Music Therapist. In 2013, he founded Capital Music Therapy Services, LLC (CMTS). He then created the largest music therapy company in the Washington D.C. Metro area in under 22 months as his side-hustle while still working full-time for the school district. In 2015, he left his day job in the public schools to work full-time as the CEO of CMTS.

Rachelle Morgan MA, MT-BC
Rachelle Morgan, MA, MT-BC is the founder of Soundscaping Source, where her mission is to bring meaningful music experiences to older adults and their caregivers, all the way to the end of life. Rachelle has been in clinical practice as a music therapist since 2004, and she maintains a private practice in Kansas City, where her team serves older adults in senior living and hospice.
Rachelle is on the faculty of Saint Mary-of-the-Woods College and is in demand as a speaker, consultant, and staff trainer on topics related to music and eldercare. She is passionate about empowering music therapists in their work with older adults and as business owners.

CJ Shiloh, MT-BC
CJ has worked as a board certified music therapist since 2013. Before entering the music therapy field, CJ worked as a classical piano teacher for 15 years, as well as several years as a K-8 music educator and a home/hospital teacher in the public schools. She has been the owner and CEO of Annapolis Music Therapy Services since 2013, which now has 6 board-certified music therapists, 1 billing manager and a robust internship program of university affiliates. She is also co-founder and Executive Director of a disability rights nonprofit, The Musical Autist. She is a Neurologic Music Therapist-Fellow and currently serves the MAR region as Government Relations Chair.
